ATI and Nvidia are the leaders of the GPU market. When you upgrade your graphics card you usually have to choose between similarly priced and positioned products from these two companies. But how do you know if ATI or Nvidia is better?
Nvidia is a GPU (graphics processing unit) and motherboard chipset manufacturer based in Santa Clara, California (US). It was founded in 1993 and since then became one of the leaders in gaming and professional graphics. Nvidia was the first to introduce a graphics card with on-board transform and lighting (T&L) - the Geforce 256 - in 1999. The GeForce brand became highly popular and with the exception of FX series these cards have always been some of the best on the home graphics market. The popular console Playstation 3 also uses Nvidia graphics.
In February 2008 Nvidia acquired Ageia Technologies and started integrating their physics engine, the PhysX into Geforce cards. All Geforce 8 cards and above now support PhysX hardware acceleration for .PhysX-enabled games

According to some!! Ati rules in hardware , ati cards have better performance, power efficiency and Price is also considerable !! Nvidia on other hand Provides better drivers , stable ones , which work properly in linux unlike ATI!! Lets Consider Well known GFX cards from NVIDIA and ATI and compare them!!

Both cards are good however it's always been a known fact, proven time and time again that ATI's visual quality is higher than Nvidia. If you ever have a chance to see both cards side my side using the same Monitor.. image quality always goes to ATI. But some believe NVidia is more powerful and is more suited for gaming and 3D rendering applications such as architect drawings . Well this is never ending fight but with Nvidia's PhysX technology, PhysX enabled games like Batman arkham asylum etc . . Max performance can be observed only in NVIDIA , but not in ATI!!
Anyways you only have to answer this question after reading my blog??

ReplyDeleteWhether it is GTX series or HD radeon series....it all depends on the gamer,and the game what he plays.Upcoming series of cards frm both the companies have grt potentials...and everything can be maxed out if u have DX 11,but always we feel that some gfx cards have upperhand wen compared to others...this conflict of gfx crads always exist until someone comes out with an exemplary feature in GPU technology....anyways cheers HSP...nice blog :)
